Governance
The ADP is governed by the Association of Dawson Professionals Constitution (2013) and is led by the Executive.
The Executive is composed of the Executive Leadership and Executive Council.
The Executive Leadership includes the Association’s President(s), Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. The post of President is shared by two individuals, with each serving as « Co-President ».
The Executive Council consists of professionals who have been elected or appointed by the membership to represent the ADP on College boards and committees.

Treasurer
Marie-Claude Sheppard, Financial Management Officer, Finance
Marie-Claude is responsible for keeping track of the ADP’s revenues and expenses and oversees the ADP’s bank account. She prepares a summary of revenues and expenses on an annual basis. Treasurer since April 2020.

Secretary
Alan Stewart, Assistant to the Academic Dean
Alan handles correspondence with the FPPC and informs the membership of various matters as they arise. He is also the returning officer for all elections and all electronic balloting. Secretary since 2013.

Board of Governors
The Board of Governors is the College’s decision-making body. The Board exercises the rights and powers of the College in accordance with the General and Vocational Colleges Act, the Regulations adopted thereunder, and the Mission Statement of the College. The Board of Governors is composed of 19 members, including one professional. The professional is elected by the ADP members for a three-year term, which can be renewed once. The Board meets six times per year.

Senate
Senate is the College’s consultative body on academic matters. Its main role is to advise the Board of Governors on any matter concerning the programs of studies dispensed by the College and the evaluation of learning achievement, including the procedures for the certification of studies. Senate is composed of 35 members, three of whom are professionals who are elected by the ADP membership. There is no limit to the number of years a professional may serve on Senate. Senate meets at least 10 times per year.

Comité de relations de travail (CRT), Labour Relations Committee
The CRT is the formal parity committee which meets several times a year. It is the mechanism through which the College’s management and the ADP attempt to resolve issues related to the application or interpretation of the Collective Agreement or any other labour relations issues.
The role and the responsibilities of the CRT are outlined in the current Collective Agreement under Article 4-2.00. Representatives to this committee are elected by the ADP membership.

Professional Development Committee
The PDC is composed of two representatives of the ADP and two representatives of the College. Their task is to review member applications to the College Professional Development fund, and to update the policy as needed. The ADP President serves as an ex officio member and alternate.

Budget Consultation Committee
The Budget Consultation Committee is chaired by the Director General and meets once or twice per year, usually in the winter semester. At these meetings, the Director General asks for feedback on draft budgets and the staffing plan for the upcoming academic year.

Committee to Stem Violence, Discrimination, Harassment and Abuse of Power
This committee is responsible for promoting the Policy to Stem Violence, Discrimination, Harassment and Abuse of Power, providing education for the community, and making recommendations on changes to the policy, and to other related policies and practices.

Institutional Student Evaluation Policy (ISEP) Committee
This committee regularly reviews the ISEP, which outlines the roles and responsibilities of students, teachers and administrators with regard to student evaluation, and sets out the rules surrounding assessment, grades and academic standing.
